Sept 25, 2017

I had a pretty exciting week!!! Ill started with the transfers. So on Saturday we got a call from the assistances saying that I will be leaving to go to Ferrari in the zone of Marcos Paz!!!! It’s supper sketchy, even more than Parque San Martin haha, one of the sketchiest places that a North American can go to hahaha, so I’m pretty excited; for sure I’ll be getting some pretty good stories. They also do baptise a lot there and they have a really good bishop too. So I’m pretty pumped cause I’ll be working with Elder Ruiz!! he is from Utah and pretty kapo. he has a transfer or two less than me so it’ll be pretty fun seeing how things go. I met him once and he is a pretty cool guy so I’m excited.

Birthday week was a really awesome week as well. We have a fridge full of cake haha. for lunch we ate with the Paredes family and they gave me a bucket of ice cream. we ate dinner with Luis and he bought me shoes!!!!!!!! I wasn’t expecting that, he even got the perfect size and he didn’t even ask me for my size! I’ll be missing Luis a ton. I also got a ton of other gifts like cologne and after-shave so they all treated me very well. It was sad yesterday because I said goodbye to a lot of the family’s. the baptism of EujeƱia fell trough because the father had to work but it wasn’t even a big deal our week was really great!!!  I’m excited to be writing you all next week an to tell you about Ferrari but until then take care love ya’ll!!!!

It was great to hear all the birthday wishes from everyone. Never knew I was missed that bad haha. It is pretty strange being 19 cause I’m pretty sure in Argentina I’m now considered an adult. I became an adult twice hah. Thanks to everyone who sent me a birthday wish I really did appreciate it! This week was pretty great for one reason, it’s because we will be seeing a baptism on the 23rd; a day after my birthday haha. This young girl named Eujenia has been coming to church for a while but never asked to get baptized or something, so we have been working with her and the family for a while but this week is a go.

Elder Mayorga and I are doing great, still we keep joking all day. For my birthday this week we will be eating a lot of cake haha.  Luis has been secretly trying to set something up for me but it got out pretty quick. I think I will be eating a bit of asado as well, so I’ll be sure to send some photos. I have been doing a lot of study lately on 3 Nephi, which is really interesting.  One of the things I have been thinking about is how great of an effect a small moment can have. Thinking about the Savior’s powerful ministry to the Nephites for such a small period of time changed the following hundreds of years. From a two minute contact to a short two years in the mission I know that just being a representative of the savior will make an impact. I love you all and I hope you can all look for big things that all started with something small. Have a great week!!!!!!!

Hola
This week was pretty great! On p-day last week me and my comp went to learn on how to make empanadas from one of our investigators. It’s a little bit harder than it looks but I kinda got it down now. We also had a multi zone conference with president and his wife. It was all based on section 4 in Doctrine and Covenants. President has had a vision for a while on getting 101 baptisms every month. It’s gonna be tough to get because we are normally getting 60 every month and so far for September we only have 8 so far. But next month is around the time of year when it gets a lot easier with Christmas coming up and everything. I’m pretty sure Sister Resek put all the photos on the facebook page if you wana check out some of the stuff we did. This week it has been raining a ton! Yesterday it poured all day and all night. Elder Mayorga couldn’t sleep but I was out. He said I started to preach to him about the Book of Mormon and how it could change his life. Elder Mayorga said he just played along with it this time but at one point he rejected me hard and then I just sounded a little bit sad after haha, I don’t remember any of it though hahah. It’s great to hear that everyone is doing well. I’m sure you guys are gonna start preparing for the cold weather again soon hahah love yall

Hola!
I think I had one of my favorite weeks in the mission this week! It was so awesome and just so many things happened it went by like that! I think on Thursday we went to a funeral service because one of the part member families that we are teaching, the grandma died so we went to help out the family which was really great. Although the funeral services here in Argentina are pretty weird cause they don’t seem as respectful. For example they had these workers who basically thru the coffin into the grave and all the dirt that was dug up was covering another grave. Here in Argentina your family has to pay yearly for your loved ones and if you don’t pay then they pull out the coffin and they take out the body and then they put it into a pit with a bunch of other people kinda creepy no. On Friday we randomly found a less active member who is brothers with Victor Mancilla who apparently was in 8th ward with us when I was a baby. I’m not sure if you would know him but you gotta get in contact with him! We also found a ton of people finally this week. We got 13 new investigators and they are all pretty capo. Today my comp Elder Mayorga also got permission to go to Atalaya to visit some old converts. Atalaya is also right beside Los Pinos so I was able to go back there an visit were I started my mission! This week was just super great really happy to be a missionary. It’s crazy that I got 10 months now, things are going by faster than I thought right now! I hope you guys all have a great week!
